Balgo Playground

The Wirrimanu Community are now the proud owners of some brand new playground equipment thanks to a grant and Ri-con Contractors. Approximately 30 local Wirrimanu children excitedly fronted up to see the installation of their new playground equipment. The workers installing the equipment couldn’t resist their eager faces so let them help out with the installation.

“The kids were really excited and just wanted to be involved. You could see when everything was done how proud they were of their achievements and how overjoyed they were to have all this new playground equipment. Even Jelly Bean the local camel has been utilising the equipment much to everyone’s amusement,” said Ri-con Project Manager, Leonie Gotts.

“The playground equipment was funded via a grant but that did not include the installation. We saw this as something really important for the local community so as well as coordinating the purchase, delivery and construction we donated the workers to install the equipment and the other things needed to make the playground a reality such as concrete and fixings. It was definitely worth it when you see how happy it has made all the local kids. We all had a great time and it was a really fun project. It just goes to show what the community can achieve when we all work together.”
