El Questro Resort - Emma Gorge
EL QUESTRO RESORT – EMMA GORGE,
CLIENT: GPT, 2005
As the initial builders of the El Questro Homestead,
Station and Emma Gorge Resort, Ri-con was immediately
engaged to undertake repairs and maintenance work
following the March 2005 cyclone damage to the
resort and surrounding areas.
This work included :
- Rebuilding most of the permanent ensuite
tent cabins
- Re-installing concrete swimming pool
- Redirecting the flow of the river with major
civil works and building a 15m bridge
- An upgrade of all the cold and hot water (gas
boosted) reticulation
With such a remote location repairs required
careful and extensive planning and logistics as
El Questro is one of the Kimberley regions major
tourism draw cards. A quick turnaround was an
essential component of the project brief.
