Health and Safety in our Workplace

The health and safety of all workers is at the heart of the Ri-con value system.

A key objective of the company is to conduct its construction operations in a way that provides safe productive workplaces for all employees, subcontractors, visitors and the wider community. To attain this, the Company operating is certified to AS4801:2001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management systems for the provision of building design and construction services.

Project and Site Managers are empowered to introduce and operate the Company’s OHS system. They are then assessed on the basis of audit results and the performance and contribution of staff and subcontractors on the work sites.

Health and safety training is mandatory for all staff and contractors working for Ri-con. The
Workplace Health and Safety Adviser develops and delivers safety training to Project and Site Managers and they, in turn, deliver material to staff and contractors on site.

The Company is proud of its safe working history and safety performance is continuously monitored and reviewed. Procedures that detail the responsibilities of all staff in analysing health and safety performance give details of how they can contribute to its ongoing improvement.
